Build a schedule around the hours you actually have.

If you already work a regular job and want to use your Texas notary commission outside those hours, tell us when you can reliably take mobile appointments. You might offer two weekday evenings, Saturday mornings or a limited Sunday window. NotaryNow DFW is recruiting independent providers who can assess customer requests and accept the ones that fit their availability.

This is an opportunity to apply for a referral network. It is not an employment offer, a paid shift or a promise of a particular number of jobs. You stay responsible for your own business and decide whether an individual appointment makes sense.

Evening, weekend and urgent notary opportunities

Customers may need a notary after work, when relatives are together on a weekend, or when a prepared document has a short deadline. We want providers who can clearly state their availability for those requests and follow through after accepting a booking. You do not need to offer every kind of appointment or be available all night.

  • Evenings: specify the earliest time you can actually reach a customer after your regular workday.
  • Weekends: distinguish Saturday from Sunday and mention any limits when you discuss your application.
  • Urgent requests: assess travel time, document readiness and the customer’s deadline before accepting.
  • Overnight requests: select overnight availability only if it is a practical choice for you, including safe travel and a suitable meeting location.

Choose a useful DFW service area

A realistic service radius is more helpful than promising the entire metroplex. An Irving-based provider might offer nearby evening visits, while someone near Fort Worth may prefer a different area. Dallas, Arlington, Grand Prairie and the other listed cities all need location-specific scheduling decisions. List the cities or ZIP codes you can cover and choose your preferred travel radius in the application.

Consider the journey from where your workday ends, not only from your home. Leave time for traffic, parking, visitor check-in and the signing itself. If a request arrives while you are unavailable, do not accept a deadline you cannot meet. A clear availability window helps everyone plan.

Your rates, your costs and the referral fee

You set your own customer-facing rates, confirm an itemized quote before booking and collect payment from the customer directly. For completed jobs, providers pay a 10% referral fee on eligible service fees actually collected, including travel, urgency and after-hours charges. Separately itemized statutory notarial-act fees are excluded and pass to the provider in full.

Set your eligible service rates with that 10% in mind. Provider referral-fee payments use Square only. Fees are reconciled monthly, and overpayments or underpayments arising from refunds, chargebacks or reporting corrections are settled in the following month’s reconciliation. Read the draft Provider Agreement for the complete proposed terms and exclusions.

For illustration only, if a completed appointment produces $100 in eligible service fees actually collected, the referral fee is $10. You retain $90 of those service fees before your other expenses, plus the separately itemized statutory notarial-act fees in full. This is arithmetic, not a typical price or an earnings forecast. Fuel, parking, supplies, insurance, taxes and the time spent traveling still affect your result.

An urgent visit may support a different service quote, but it can also involve a longer journey or an unsuccessful visit. Evaluate the whole appointment before accepting. No lead volume or income is guaranteed.

What makes a provider ready for urgent work?

  1. Current credentials. Hold a valid, unexpired Texas notary commission and accurately report your screening and insurance status.
  2. A realistic response. Confirm whether the location and deadline work before giving the customer an arrival expectation.
  3. Readiness checks. Clarify the document type, signers, identification, witnesses and access requirements without asking customers to send private documents through public intake.
  4. A clear quote. Explain separate service charges and relevant cancellation or unsuccessful-visit terms before travel.
  5. Follow-through. Communicate changes promptly and accurately report completion, collections and any later corrections.

Apply without changing your whole workweek

Complete the application below with your commission information, service area, experience and actual availability. Use the preferred appointment types field to describe the kinds of visits you want to consider. Check your regular employer’s outside-work policies and avoid committing to appointments that conflict with that job.

Applications are reviewed by a person. Further verification may be requested privately; do not upload identity documents, commission certificates or insurance records through this form. The published provider agreement remains a draft for legal review, and applying does not accept it as a binding contract. Approved providers must review finalized terms before accepting referrals.

Want to understand the customer side first? Read our emergency notary, after-hours and weekend visit pages. The automated provider guide can also explain the application and referral-fee model 24/7.

Questions about part-time notary work

Can I do notary work alongside my regular job?

You can apply with limited evening or weekend availability. You choose which referrals to accept, subject to approval and provider terms. Check your employer’s outside-work policies and only offer times you can reliably cover.

Is this a salaried or hourly part-time job?

No. This is an application to an independent provider network, not an offer of employment, a wage or scheduled shifts. Approval, lead volume and earnings are not guaranteed.

How does the referral fee work?

For completed jobs, providers pay a 10% referral fee on eligible service fees actually collected, including travel, urgency and after-hours charges. Separately itemized statutory notarial-act fees are excluded and pass to the provider in full.

Do I have to accept overnight or emergency requests?

No. State the hours, cities and appointment types you can reliably cover. Accept only a request whose location, timing, requirements and quote work for you. Joining does not require being available around the clock.

Can I apply without a Texas notary commission?

Applicants must hold a valid, unexpired Texas notary commission and pass the review process. This application does not provide a commission or authorize someone to perform notarial acts.

How much extra income can I make?

There is no guaranteed income or lead volume. Your result depends on completed appointments, your rates, actual collections and expenses such as travel, supplies and the referral fee. Review the economics of each request before accepting it.
